Let Them Eat Cheesecake!

Hello everyone!

This week we celebrated Shavuot.  This is a holiday that takes place 50 days after the first Passover Seder.  Long story short, this holiday is all about the grain harvest and celebrating when we were given the Torah.  There’s a bit more to it, however that’s a post for another day.

This week, we want to focus on a fun aspect of this holiday, the food!  What’s a Jewish holiday without food?  Besides Yom Kippur, of course.  Shavuot is all about eating dairy.  One food in particular that’s become a staple of Shavuot is…cheesecake!  We have differing opinions on cheesecake here at MPT.  While Amanda isn’t a big fan, Marissa loves it (and it’s the one food she can make well).  We do both love cheese and other dairy products though.

But, back to the cheesecake.  Cheesecake happens to be a staple in one of Marissa’s favorite shows.  Can you guess what it is?  Why, it’s The Golden Girls of course!  It’s a show that was a part of Marissa’s childhood.  She remembers watching it with her parents at dinner as a kid.  In the show, the characters often solve their big life problems over a slice of cheesecake (or two).

So, in honor of Shavuot, please enjoy this compilation of cheesecake moments from The Golden Girls.

Until next time, wear a mask, wash your hands, and enjoy some cheesecake!

Love,
Amanda & Marissa
